We are a group of parents, grandparents and carers of children from all year groups that meet once every half term. It is an informal group that everyone is welcome to join and is lead by Louisa Hazlehurst -vice chair of the board of governors, with other members of the governing body and teaching staff attending .
Regular, open communication and consultation with Parents is a priority for the school. The Forum provides a valuable way to listen to your ideas and concerns and seek your views, helping to make sure the needs of children and families are met.
It is a real opportunity to meet with others to raise issues you would like addressing. In addition to concerns that you may have the Forum will be a channel to express ideas you to enrich learning and feedback on particular aspects on school your child has enjoyed and would like to do more of. There will also be information on certain topics and guidance for parents that require it. This is then fed back to the Head teacher for ideas and issues to be explored.
Examples of issues that we might discuss include:
- School development planning
- Parking and safe routes to walk
- Cost of school trips and events
- Parents evenings
- Views on school policies
Forum members are encouraged to engage with parents in their year groups to bring forward questions that they wish to be on the agenda for the meeting. For any Parent, who feels they would be a valuable member of the Forum or you are just interested in what goes on then please join us! Meetings usually take place on a Monday in the Children’s Centre. You are welcome to bring your younger children if you need to and refreshments are provided. (Please note we cannot get involved in issues with an individual, these should, as always be directed at your class teacher or the Head.)
