SOCHS School Lottery Rules

Purchasing a lottery number:

  • Players need to be 18 years or over.

  • Lottery numbers can be purchased 3 times per year and have to be purchased for the remainder of the academic year.

  • In order to purchase a number you will need to complete a school lottery form, which can be collected from the main reception or printed from here. The completed form together with the payment must be received before the deadline date for the period you are applying.

  • You will receive confirmation of money received and your allocated number within 7 days of handing in your form. Confirmation will be made by the method indicated on your purchase form.

  • The only opportunity to purchase numbers within the academic year 2014/2015 will be between 18th March 2015 and 15th April 2015, the cost for one number will be £5, and this will enter you into April, May, June, July and August 2015 draws.

  • There are three chances to purchase numbers for 2015/2016. The first opportunity will be between 1st July 2015 to 17th July (closing temporarily for the school holidays) then opening from the 2nd September 2015 to 15th September 2015. The price for numbers at this time is £12 and this will enter you into all 12 of the draws for the academic year (September 2015 to August 2016).

  • The second opportunity to purchase numbers for the academic year 2015/2016 will be between 1st December 2015 and 18th December 2015. The cost will be £8 per number and will enter you into 8 draws, the first draw being the 15th January 2016.

  • The third opportunity to purchase numbers for the academic year 2015/2016 will be between 1st March 2016 and 21st March 2016. The cost will be £5 per number and will enter you into 5 draws, the first draw being the 15th April 2016.

  • On receipt of your money and a completed form you will be issued with a number. We are unable to allow you to pick your own number. Your number will be the same for the whole academic year.

  • Only numbers where forms are completed and paid for in advance will be included in the draw.

  • Records of all numbers purchased are kept for 18 months.

The Lottery Draw:

  • The draw will take place either in the Junior or Infant assemblies on the 3rd Friday of every month. Where this date falls in a school holiday, the draw will take place one week earlier.

Winners of the lottery draw:

  • Each month’s prize fund will be made up of the total numbers sold for that month. Then 50% will be paid out to the winning number and 50% will be paid into the SOCHS (Supporters of Charnock Hall School) fund raising account.

  • There will only be 1 winning number per month.

  • The person will be contacted by their preferred method of contact as stated on their form, either phone call or email.

  • The winner will be required to collect their winnings within 2 weeks from the date of the draw from the School Office. The winnings will be paid as a cheque. If the winnings are not collected within this time or we have had no communication from the winner, then the amount will be added to the next month’s prize fund.

  • The winning number will be advertised on the Facebook page, website and on the notice board outside the Junior door and in the main reception. The person who has won will not be named unless they give permission.

  • Records will be kept of all money taken on the three opportunities to purchase numbers and projected winnings will be advertised on the website only and noticeboards outside the Junior door and in the main reception.

  • Only parents or carers of children at Charnock Hall Primary School will be able to enter the SOCHS lottery. The Lottery co-ordinators are excluded from taking part in the lottery.
