Visit from Clive Betts MP

On Friday 3rd February, me and the other year five and six school councillors went to meet some very important people in our school library. They came to see the library because we have named it after George McDonald, who used to be a governor at our school. We met five people, Clive Betts, who is an MP! The Lord Mayor, two local councillors, Karen McGowan and Bryan Lodge, and also George’s son Andrew. They all knew George very well so wanted to see what we have done to remember him. We asked Clive some questions about his job and he asked us some questions about what the school council does. We told him some improvements that we have made and some things we would like to change in the future. They also gave us a cheque for £100 to spend on books for the library. This is because George loved reading and used to come and listen to some of us read. We will look forward to spending this!

We had a great time!
